On 13 August 2026, Mrs. Punwipa Na Bangchang Wiesener, Acting Consul-General of Thailand in Hong Kong, and Ms. Pannakarn Jiamsuchon, Thai Trade Commissioner in Hong Kong attended the opening ceremony of HKTDC Food Expo PRO 2026, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council from 13 - 15 August 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Acting Consul-General also presided over the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Thailand Pavillion, with participants coming from 12 companies/associations from Thailand led by Dr. Krithpaka Boonfueng, Executive Director of the National Innovation Agency (NIA) of Thailand.

The Food Expo and Food Expo PRO as well as their related exhibitions are collectively one of the annual flagship events of Hong Kong SAR. One of the objectives of this event is to provide an opportunity for companies to take advantage of Hong Kong's capability as a springboard and super value-adder for international companies looking to access Mainland Chinese market, and for Chinese and local companies looking to go global. This year's iteration of the event marks an important milestone as its participants also include companies and delegations from all 11 ASEAN member countries.
