Thai Passport Application for Hong Kong or Macao residents (Holders of Hong Kong or Macao Identity Card)

Passport tipPresent-day passports feature enhanced security measures, incorporating biometric data namely facial recognition, fingerprints, and iris scans. Consequently, applicants who wear contact lenses are advised to wear clear lenses only, in order to ensure that their natural iris patterns can be accurately recorded.

Required Supporting Documents

  2. Current Thai Passport
  3. Thai National Identity Card
  4. Hong Kong or Macao Identity Card
  5. Thai birth certificate (In the case of first-time passport application)

Fees

  • 5-Year Thai Passport: 300 HKD
  • 10-Year Thai Passport: 450 HKD

Addtional Information

  • Applicants must submit their application for a new passport at the Consulate-General in person.
  • If the applicant Thai National Identity Card has expired, the applicant must renew their Thai National Identity Card at the Consulate-General before proceeding with their passport application.
  • If a valid (unexpired) passport is lost, the applicant must report the loss to the Hong Kong or Macao Police Force and present the official police report to the Consulate-General to apply for a replacement passport.
  • In the event that the passport is lost in Macao, the passport holder must report the loss to the Macao Police, contact the Macao Public Security Police Force (Immigration Department), and contact the Consulate-General via telephone prior to traveling to receive the document in Hong Kong. This allows consular staffs to review the details and coordinate with the Hong Kong Immigration Department to facilitate the applicant's entry into Hong Kong via the ferry terminal.
