Thai Passport Application for applicants under legal age who is residing in Hong Kong or Macao
Required Supporting Documents
- Application for Thai Passport Form (Click Here)
- Current Thai Passport
- Thai National Identity Card or Thai House Registration that contains the applicant’s name and 13-digit identification number
- Hong Kong or Macao Identity Card
- Thai birth certificate (In the case of first-time passport application)
- Thai, Hong Kong, Macao, or other National Identity Cards or Passports of the applicant’s parents or legal guardian.
Additional Documents (As applicable on a case-by-case basis)
- Certificate of First Name/Surname Change
- Parents' Marriage Certificate (In cases requesting a change of name)
- Parents' Divorce Certificate (In cases where the name does not match the previous passport)
- Divorce Registry and Memorandum of Divorce (To verify legal child custody rights)
- Evidence of Legitimation of Child (In cases where the parents are not legally married and the applicant uses the father’s surname)
- Parents' Non-Thai Identity Card (In cases where the applicant parents are aliens/ non-Thai nationals).
- Certificate of Naturalization

- 5-Year Thai Passport: 300 HKD
Addtional Information
- Applicants must submit their application for a new passport at the Consulate-General in person.
- If the applicant parents or legal guardian reside in Thailand, they may sign the official Letter of Consent at the District Office or Local Registry Office. If the applicant parents or legal guardian reside abroad, they must contact the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their country of residence to execute a Letter of Consent.
- If the applicant’s Thai National Identity Card has expired, the applicant must renew their Thai National Identity Card at the Consulate-General before proceeding with their passport application.
- If a valid (unexpired) passport is lost, the applicant must report the loss to the Hong Kong or Macao Police Force and present the official police report to the Consulate-General to apply for a replacement passport.
- In the event that the passport is lost in Macao, the passport holder must report the loss to the Macao Police, contact the Macao Public Security Police Force (Immigration Department), and contact the Consulate-General via telephone prior to traveling to receive the document in Hong Kong. This allows consular staffs to review the details and coordinate with the Hong Kong Immigration Department to facilitate the applicant's entry into Hong Kong via the ferry terminal.
