Required Supporting Documents 

  1. Application for Divorce Registration Form (Click Here)
  2. Both parties' Thai Passports
  3. Both parties' Thai National Identity Cards
  4. Both parties' Hong Kong, Macao, or other National Identity Cards
  5. Both parties' Thai House Registration
  6. Both parties' original marriage certificate
  7. In the case that the couple has children together: The children’s birth certificate

 

For items 2-7, the applicants is required to present the original document or a clear, verifiable photograph/ digital copies upon submission.  Please note that the Royal Thai Consulate-General does not require and will not retain physical photocopies of the aforementioned documents.

 

Remarks

  • Local authorities in Hong Kong do not recognize divorce registrations issued by the Royal Thai Consulate-General, rendering them legally invalid under local jurisdiction.
  • Both of the parties must return both original copies of their Marriage Certificates to the Consulate-General.
  • Both parties must mutually consent to the divorce registration and reach an agreement regarding asset division and child custody (if applicable).
  • In cases where the parties have children together, please specify the terms and conditions of child custody clearly in the Divorce Agreement, as amendments to the agreement cannot be made at a later date.
  • If the divorced female spouse wishes to change her title and revert to her original maiden name, she must submit an application to amend her personal data elements at a District Office in Thailand in person. Alternatively, she may authorize a Thai national of legal age to act on her behalf by executing a Power of Attorney (POA) authenticated by a consular officer.
  • Photocopies of Thai, Hong Kong, Macao, or other passports must include the biodata page (showing photograph and personal details) as well as any pages indicating official name or surname amendments.
  • Photocopies of Thai, Hong Kong, Macao, or other National Identity Cards must include both the front and back of the card.
  • House Registration must be the current booklet format, and the photocopy must include every page containing recorded entries.
  • Consular officers reserve the right to request additional supporting documents or evidence as deemed necessary.
