On 18 August 2023, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong, in collaboration with Hong Kong - ASEAN Foundation, and Asia Society Hong Kong Center, co-hosted a screening of a Thai animated film “The Legend of Muay Thai: 9 Satra,” which was produced by Igloo Studio, a world-class animation studio in Thailand, at Miller Theater, Asia Society, Hong Kong Center. The event was followed by a post-screening sharing session by Mr. Nat Yoswatananont, founder of Igloo Studio and director of the said movie, and Mr. Kris Na lamlieng, president of the Thai Animation and Computer Graphic Association (TACGA), and a networking cocktail reception which aimed to connect Thai animation creators with film and arts entrepreneurs in Hong Kong. The event was attended by approximately 80 people, including famous Hong Kong film stars, Mr. Jason Pai Piao and Mrs. Sharon Yeung Pan-pan.

The event was a part of the ASEAN Film Festival 2023, which was aimed at promoting cooperation in film and creative industries between Thailand and Hong Kong as well as ASEAN countries and promoting Thai films in Hong Kong as a part of the Royal Thai Government’s “5F” soft power policy.
