On 24 June 2026, Ms. Ranida Chamchalerm, Deputy Consul-General, Acting Consul-General of Thailand in Hong Kong, attended the opening ceremony of the "Hong Kong Lotus Festival 2026" which is open to the public from 20 June - 2 July 2026 at Po Lin Monastery, Ngong Ping, Hong Kong SAR.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General has collaborated with Po Lin Monastery in organising this annual event for the fourth consecutive year, with the objective of promoting Buddhist cooperation and cultural exchange between Thailand and Hong Kong. For this festival, the Royal Thai Consulate-General contributed more than 100 water lily saplings from Thailand to be put on display, including the “Jongkolnee” breed which is a rare and ancient water lily indigenous only to Thailand.
