On 8 May 2026, Mr. Chaturont Chaiyakam, Consul-General of Thailand in Hong Kong, attended the Global Mediation Summit, organised by the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong SAR. The summit aimed to be a platform for international legal experts to exchange views on international mediation, while enhancing the roles of IOMed and Hong Kong SAR as international centres for mediation and dispute settlement.

On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, former deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of Thailand also participated as a distinguished speaker during the panel discussion on the topic of "The Facilitators of Peace: Wisdom from World-Class Mediators".
