On 15 May 2026, Mr Chaturont Chaiyakam, Consul-General of Thailand in Hong Kong, welcomed the representatives from the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, University of Hong Kong, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Loretta Kim, Programme Director, to discuss the promotion of Thai language teaching and learning in Hong Kong SAR. On this occassion, the Consul-General also gave a cheque to support the organisation of a Thai language placement test in Hong Kong SAR, which is scheduled to take place in August 2026.
